Rublev vs Paul: ATP Gijon Open 2022 Where to watch, Schedule, Dates, Seeds, Prize Money, Live Streaming details

Andrey Rublev has struggled throughout his career to keep the intensity high, and he had the same issue in his opening encounter against Ilya Ivashka. He had seven breakpoint opportunities, won the first set easily, jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the second set, but required a third set to win the match, 6-3 5-7 6-4. Due to his continuous efforts at the other levels in 500 and 250 events, the Russian #2 still has a legitimate chance of making the ATP Finals in Turin next month despite having only achieved one semifinal finish in major tournaments (Masters and slams) all year.

In the first round, Tommy Paul only dropped three games to Martin Landaluce, the defending Boys’ US Open champion, but in the second round, a different kid from Spain had him fight hard for the victory. Despite having two set points (on returns) and a 5-3 lead in the second set, Nicolas Alvarez Varona lost 3-6, 6-7. The previous Boys’ French Open champion was unable to advance past the quarterfinal rounds this year, which prevented him from accomplishing anything noteworthy on the main tour. He has so far in 2022 played eight quarterfinal games, losing seven of them.
