In a heartwarming gesture, Ryan Reynolds, the co-owner of Wrexham AFC, has extended a helping hand to a young girl battling a severe medical condition. Reynolds has contributed a substantial £10,000 to aid the fundraising efforts for 13-year-old Lexi Collins, who is courageously fighting a rare and aggressive form of heart cancer.
Lexi, who hails from Wrexham, received her daunting diagnosis in June. Since then, she has endured two open-heart surgeries, the implantation of a pacemaker, and is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatments. Yet, amid these trying times, Lexi holds onto a heartfelt wish—to experience the magic of New York City this Christmas.
The community has rallied around Lexi, determined to make her dream a reality. Her family initiated a fundraising campaign, which gained additional momentum thanks to the efforts of Wrexham Police FC. The club set up a GoFundMe page to gather support for Lexi’s dream trip, aiming to reach a target of £20,000.
With Reynolds’ generous contribution, the fundraising goal has been swiftly met. Wrexham Police FC joyfully announced the news and expressed their gratitude: “A huge thank you to our friend @VancityReynolds for once again showing his incredible generosity. Because of his support, Lexi will be heading to New York when she’s feeling well enough. Not all heroes wear capes, this one wears a red and black suit.”

In addition to Reynolds’ contribution, there is also a separate GoFundMe page set up by Lexi’s family to cover costs for potential overseas treatment, travel, and the substantial medical expenses associated with her fight against cancer.
The largest donation on this page is £5,000 from Ethan Payne, known as Behzinga, a YouTube star and member of the Sidemen.
Although unconfirmed, this generous donation is believed to have come from Payne, who had previously shared links to Lexi’s fundraiser on his social media accounts.
