It’s time for the Tour Finals, the final tournament on the ATP calendar for 2022, to begin on Sunday, November 13 in Turin. The top eight ranked players have qualified for the ATP Finals, with incumbent world number one Carlos Alcaraz missing out due to an injury suffered earlier this month at the Paris Masters. However, the list includes two of the greatest Grand Slam winners in ATP history: Rafael Nadal (22) and Novak Djokovic (21). Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev are two other former champions in the field.

The 2022 ATP Finals will begin on November 13 (Sunday) and will last one week, ending on November 20. (Sunday).

Format

The group stage will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing off against the other three teams in the group. The matches will be best-of-three, with tie-breaks in each set. The player rankings on the points table will be determined by the number of wins, the number of matches played, the H2H tie in the event of a tie, the highest percentage of sets won, the highest percentage of games won, and finally, the ATP rank at the end of the previous year-end event. Two players from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will be followed by the final.

Prize Money

The singles winner will receive the largest check in tennis history, with the undefeated champion receiving 4.8 million euros, and the doubles winners receiving 944,580 euros. The prize money has been tripled since the last edition before the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in 2019.
