Tottenham Hotspur are basking in their Europa League triumph – and they’ve chosen to celebrate it with a brilliant, not-so subtle dig at Manchester United.

As part of their new Europa League Winners clothing line, Spurs have reclaimed one of football’s most iconic jibes: “Lads, it’s Tottenham.”

The phrase, famously attributed to former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, was reportedly said in the dressing room to motivate his team before matches against Spurs. It became shorthand for Tottenham’s perceived fragility during a 17-year trophy drought – until now.

After defeating Manchester United four times last season, including in the Europa League final, Spurs are flipping the narrative in hilarious fashion.

The new collection features a navy hoodie and matching t-shirt, both designed with a minimalist aesthetic and the phrase “Lads, it’s Tottenham” subtly stitched or printed in white.

In a delicious twist, some United fans had pre-printed their own versions of the slogan before the final, expecting a routine win. Instead, it’s Tottenham – now European champions and trophy holders for the first time in 18 years – who have the last laugh.

The limited-edition merch is available now through Tottenham’s official club store, giving fans a chance to wear history, with a wink.
