Tottenham’s hunt for a place in the Champions League continues on Saturday with a Premier League home match against Crystal Palace.

Ange Postecoglou’s side find themselves five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, albeit with a game in hand, so they still have plenty of work to do if Champions League football is to grace the Tottenham Hotspur stadium next season.

Crystal Palace could put up more of a fight thanks to new manager bounce. They are now under the guidance of Oliver Glasner and beat Burnley 3-0 in his first game in charge. There will be a lot of confidence in the squad, with players trying to impress the new coach.

Here is 90min’s preview of Tottenham vs Crystal Palace.

There was terrible news for Tottenham ahead of their loss against Wolves as both Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie got injuries. The latter should be back to face Crystal Palace, but Porro is expected to miss out.

Ryan Sessegnon looks set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery, so he joins Fraser Forster and Manor Solomon on the sidelines. Ben Davies should drop back to the bench with Udogie coming into the starting lineup.

Tottenham predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Royal, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison.

Eberechi Eze

The Eagles are expected to have Joachim Andersen available from the start despite some recent fitness issues, while Eberechi Eze and Will Hughes should be options for Glasner again, with the former expected to start.

Beyond that, they will still be without Michael Olise, Rob Holding, Marc Guehi, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Cheick Doucoure, players who could have made a real difference to their season.

Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Tottenham (3-4-2-1): Johnstone; Ward, Richards, Andersen; Munoz, Wharton, Lerma, Mitchell; Eze, Ayew; Mateta.

At other points in the season, this would have been a game that Tottenham could have won by a four or five-goal margin. While that is still the case, Palace are expected to be a tougher team to beat for the rest of the campaign now that there has been a change of coach.

That being said, Tottenham should still have too much firepower in front of their fans for Palace to handle and while it won’t be a hammering, Postecoglou’s side will get all three points on Saturday.
