Leaked Guehi farewell video emerges after collapsed Liverpool move
A heartfelt farewell video featuring Marc Guehi has emerged online, despite his anticipated £35 million transfer from Crystal Palace to Liverpool collapsing at the eleventh hour.
The three-minute video, evidently prepared ahead of time, showcases memorable moments of Guehi’s career in south London, captured in black-and-white. Highlights include his first goal, his call-up to the England national team, leading Crystal Palace as captain, and celebrating their FA Cup victory last season.
The video concludes with Guehi’s poignant words: “I’m a south London boy. Grew up in south London. Captained the club from a young age. They’ve been fantastic for me and my family. Definitely a pleasure to play for this football club.”
Although Liverpool attempted to finalize the transfer by submitting a deal sheet to extend negotiations past the 7 pm deadline, Crystal Palace halted the move after failing to secure a replacement. As a result, Guehi will continue his journey at Selhurst Park, with just a year remaining on his current contract.
