West Ham launch loan bid for Brazil goalkeeper

Magpies tracking rising Wolves star

On the radar of several clubs, Newcastle United is one of the teams showing interest in Wolves’ promising talent, Mateus Mane.

Just 18 years old, Mane made history by becoming the youngest player to score for Wolves in the Premier League during their recent 3-0 victory over West Ham.

Newcastle are assessing options with Aston Villa keen on striker William Osula.

Man City defender in-demand

Barcelona and Crystal Palace are among the clubs holding an interest in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.

However, the Dutchman is unlikely to be leaving just yet after City picked up injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias. City are exploring a deal for Palace’s Marc Guehi as a consequence.

Barca are discussing a deal for former City full-back Joao Cancelo from Al Hilal.

Esse close to joining Championship high-flyers

Crystal Palace forward Romain Esse is closing on agreement to join Coventry City on loan until the end of the season.

Out-of-favour Burnley star could leave for Turkey

Burnley defender Quilindschy Hartman is emerging as a target for Turkish side Besiktas.

The 24-year-old left back has fallen out of favour under Scott Parker and is open to leaving but Burnley are yet to receive a formal approach.

Liverpool poised to seal deal for Senegal defender

Liverpool are closing in on deal to sign left sided centre back Mor Ndiaye who played for Senegal at the recent U17 World Championships in Qatar.

Ndiaye currently plays for Amitié FC, which is the club in Senegal which former Chelsea striker Demba Ba invested in.

If the signing is completed, Ndiaye will arrive as an U21 development player under the guidance of coach Rob Page.

His arrival would in turn create loan opportunities for current players in this age group such as Amara Nallo in keeping with Liverpool’s strategy of establishing development pathways for their youngsters.

Ndiaye and 6ft 5ins Austria Vienna defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe, who has been lined up for the summer after he turns 18, have both been identified by Liverpool’s director of Global Talent Matt Newberry and his team.

NO CONTACT OVER CHIESA BID

Liverpool have had no contact from Juventus for Federico Chiesa at this stage –  formal or otherwise – despite reports suggesting the Italian giants were plotting a move to re-sign the attacker.

Chiesa, 28, played 131 times for Juventus between 2020 and 2024 before joining the Reds for £12.5million at the start of last season.

He has struggled for gametime at Anfield however, starting just two Premier League games over the past 18 months.

Despite Liverpool’s lengthy list of attacking absentees in recent weeks, Chiesa hasn’t seen his involvement increase dramatically, although he did start the 2-1 win over Wolves last month.

Some reports had subsequently suggested Chiesa, who won three trophies with Juventus, could be on the move this month.

HAMMERS LAND £25m STRIKER TO BOOST SURVIVAL BID

West Ham have completed the £25.2m signing of Taty Castellanos from Lazio.

The 27-year-old becomes the Hammers’ second January signing after the £21m arrival of striker Pablo from Gil Vicente.

Castellanos, who will wear the No. 11 shirt, has joined West Ham on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

NEWCASTLE PUSH FOR TEEN DEFENDER

Newcastle are expected to push ahead with a bid for Toulouse defender Dayann Methalie despite the 19-year-old undergoing knee surgery.

The left-back, who can also play at centre back, has undergone a procedure to remedy knee pain but is expected back within a month and Newcastle want to head off competition for the talented teenager.

Newcastle striker William Osula is still wanted by Eintracht Frankfurt despite the fact they plan to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo on loan from Nottingham Forest. However, Osula, who is recovering fitness after an ankle injury, also has interest from Aston Villa.

Kalimuendo is still expected to undergo his medical with Frankfurt in the next 48 hours after they agreed to pay a £1.2m loan fee to Forest with option to buy.

Tottenham have been rebuffed in an approach for Santos left-back Souza. Spurs are understood to have offered £8m. The 19-year-old has also attracted attention from Chelsea, he has an £87m buy out clause.

CHERRIES WEIGH UP SEMENYO REPLACEMENTS

Bournemouth have added Stoke City winger Sorba Thomas to their list of potential replacements for Antoine Semenyo.

Daily Mail Sport revealed that Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu is one of Bournemouth’s targets as they anticipate Semenyo’s £65m departure, but Wales international Thomas has also come under consideration after an impressive season in the Championship where he has scored nine league goals this season.

Thomas, 26, scored one and set up the other in Stoke’s 2-0 win at Norwich on Sunday.

BEES EYE UP MAN CITY YOUNGSTER

Manchester City defender Juma Bah has emerged as an option for Brentford.

The 19-year-old is on loan at Nice so that would have to be curtailed if The Bees pursue initial talks.

Brentford are exploring centre-backs on the market as Wolfsburg are keen on Kristoffer Ajer.

Another City centre-back Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, 20, underwent a medical at Bundesliga club Cologne on Sunday ahead of a fresh loan move with option to buy. The England U20 international was at Celtic for the first half of the season.

City have asked about 18-year-old forward Mathys Detourbet from sister club Troyes in France.

The France U21 international, who can play off either wing, made his first team debut a year ago.

City defender Nathan Ake is continuing to assess options after rejecting a move to West Ham.

Winger Luis Guilherme is completing his £14m transfer to Sporting Lisbon from West Ham.

Lazio striker Taty Castellanos is still scheduled to undergo a medical with West Ham even though manager Nuno Espírito Santo is at risk of losing his job.

The Hammers have also discussed Al Ittihad winger Steven Bergwijn, formerly of Spurs.

Manchester United left-back Harry Amass has loan interest from Stoke and Watford who have had to send Caleb Wiley back to Chelsea following injury. Watford have also asked about Julio Soler at Bournemouth who had interest from Ajax. Amass is on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

Leeds United are following Salford’s Under-16 centre back Archie Oldham.
