He is an American who plays professional basketball for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Minnesota Timberwolves. He was a member of the LSU Tigers basketball team. In 2024, Reid was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
He attended Southeastern Louisiana University after graduating from Roselle Catholic High School.

Career
After graduating from Roselle Catholic High School, Reid went to Southeastern Louisiana University, where he made his college debut on November 6, 2018, scoring 17 points and pulling down 6 rebounds in a 94–63 victory over Southeastern Louisiana University. Three days later, Reid scored his season-high 29 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and shooting 4–6 from beyond the arc. Reid averaged 13.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 0.9 assists during his freshman season. He is an American who plays professional basketball for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2024, Reid was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.On April 3, 2019, he declared for the 2019 NBA draft and hired an agent, foregoing his final three years of college eligibility.
On July 5, 2019, Reid signed a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Timberwolves’ NBA G League club, the Iowa Wolves, after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft. Reid would alternate between Minnesota and Iowa under the provisions of the agreement. He participated in the 2019 NBA Summer League with Minnesota as well. Reid agreed to a multi-year deal with the Timberwolves on July 17, 2019. On the first night of the G League season, he was assigned to the Iowa Wolves, the Timberwolves’ NBA G League club.
Reid sustained a left wrist injury in the fourth quarter of the Phoenix Suns’ 107-100 defeat on March 29.
The Timberwolves declared two days later that he would be sidelined indefinitely due to a left scaphoid fracture of his left wrist.
Reid agreed to a three-year, $42 million contract deal with the Timberwolves on June 25, 2023. A player option for the 2025–2026 campaign was part of the extension. Reid recorded a career-high 34 points in a 113–104 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 8, 2024. He was given the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award on April 24, 2024.
