Why Was Colbie Young Arrested And Suspended From Football?
According to Athens-Clarke County jail records, Young was booked on the misdemeanor counts at 4:18 a.m. According to a police record that The Associated Press was able to obtain, Young was arrested after getting into a fight with a 20-year-old woman who identified herself as his ex-girlfriend and told the officers that she had gone to his apartment “to speak about their relationship.”
“After she discovered he was on the phone with another woman,” she claimed, the conversation turned heated. In addition to “grabbing her from behind,” the woman reported to the police that Young “physically pulled her out of his room” and “picked her up and began to squeeze her torso and abdomen very hard.”
The lady informed authorities that she believed Young “was trying to harm her.” According to the arresting officer, Young denied touching the woman and was not at fault for the bruise, discoloration, and redness that were discovered on her.
Kim Stephens, Young’s lawyer, told the AP in a statement that Young did not hurt the victim.
Stephens stated that Colbie Young was taken into custody last night after he requested his ex-girlfriend to vacate his flat. “There was never any physical contact between him and her that would be seen as illegal. When the facts come to light and our inquiry is concluded, I anticipate that Mr. Young will be completely cleared.
Following Colbie arrest early Tuesday morning on misdemeanor charges of battery and assault on an unborn child, Georgia coach Kirby Smart said on Wednesday that wide receiver Colbie Young -has been suspended indefinitely from the team.
