Kelso Races Accident Today – What Happened?
After the race, Kelso Racing was delayed a second time while the track awaited the arrival of an air ambulance to carry McCann to the hospital.
McCann fell at the second jump while riding Diamond State for his employer Lucinda Russell and was treated on the track, delaying the third race by 15 minutes.
The air ambulance arrived about 3.15 p.m., and the 3m2f handicap chase, which had been scheduled to begin at 2.45 p.m., began at 3.20 p.m.

The Kelso meeting was the second of three in the Racing Post Go North Weekend, and Romeo Brown won the 2m5f handicap hurdle, one of two series finals to be shown on ITV.
