EVANS, Ga. – An incident unfolded in Appling over the weekend, leading to the arrest of a woman accused of striking her boyfriend with a minivan.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office dispatched officers to a Kroger parking lot in Evans following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
Upon their arrival, deputies found a man on the ground, complaining of back pain. According to reports, the victim was uncooperative and refrained from providing details about the incident initially.
Eventually, he claimed he had fallen and hurt his back, requesting assistance from his girlfriend, identified as Kelsea Munro, to drive him to the hospital.
However, a witness contradicted his account, stating that they observed Munro hitting the man with a minivan.
Reports say that Munro was revving her engine while waiting for the victim outside the store. She allegedly attempted to hit him then took off. As the victim crossed the parking lot, Munro allegedly struck him.
She was taken to the hospital due to her pregnancy before being booked the Columbia County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault.
