CLEVELAND (WJW) U.S. Marshals are releasing details of a 30-day investigation in Cleveland.
According to a press release, U.S. Marshals with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) recovered critically missing children, with ten children recovered during the operation.
Investigators said ten fugitives wanted for sex crimes were arrested.
John Armstrong, 50, was wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for rape of a juvenile and wanted by East Cleveland police for homicide.
Investigators said Armstrong was tracked to an apartment in Dayton and shot at officers when they arrived.
No officers were injured, according to a press release, and Armstrong was taken into custody.
During the operation, investigators say over 130 violent fugitives were arrested, including people wanted for homicide, felony assault and gun crimes.
Investigators said Shon Turner was among those captured.
The 34-year-old was wanted by the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department for pushing a 6-year-old from a window, according to a press release.
The child was seriously hurt.
Investigators said they seized 11 firearms during the operation, two of which were reported stolen.
