A close call unfolded for a 13-year-old girl in Texas on Monday morning when she narrowly avoided an abduction attempt while on her way to school. The incident, occurring in broad daylight, involved a man who tried to seize her from behind. Authorities noted that the suspect was wearing a ski mask.

The frightening encounter took place as the young student made her way to Central Middle School in Galveston, just before 7 a.m. According to the Galveston Police Department, she became aware of someone following her when she heard footsteps approaching from the rear.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, allegedly grabbed her, initiating a brief altercation.

Displaying remarkable bravery, the teenager managed to bite her assailant twice, allowing her to escape unharmed. She immediately ran to the school where she reported the incident to her teachers, who promptly contacted the authorities.
