Authorities report that a 19-year-old woman allegedly drove her vehicle into a Staten Island resident seated on a bench after a heated argument erupted on Saturday afternoon.

Officers arrived at 18 Father Capodanno Blvd. around 2:42 p.m. after a confrontation between the teenager and a 45-year-old woman intensified. According to police, the teenager allegedly got into her Volkswagen Jetta, circled the woman’s driveway, and then collided with her.

The injured woman was quickly transported to Staten Island University Hospital, suffering from multiple injuries, according to officials and sources.

She is currently being treated and is in stable condition.

The cause of the altercation remains unknown at this time.

Police said a person of interest has since been taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
