HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man has been apprehended following an incident where a woman was assaulted while she was jogging near a bayou close to Houston, officials with the Harris County Constable Precinct 1, led by Alan Rosen, reported.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Rosen disclosed that 19-year-old Jacoby Fuselier has been identified and arrested as the alleged perpetrator involved in the case.
According to Pct. 1, around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, the woman was walking along White Oak Bayou in the Inwood vicinity when she was brutally attacked. In a brave resistance, she confronted the assailant who not only sexually assaulted her but also tried to drown her.
Rosen explained that the victim managed to break free, make it to her vehicle, and signal for help from a nearby deputy.
Upon receiving the details, Precinct 1 authorities succeeded in locating Fuselier, who was already on their radar for reportedly whistling at another female while biking in the vicinity.
“He fled initially, but we were able to get him into custody,” Rosen said on Tuesday.
Rosen added that the 19-year-old is also being investigated by other law enforcement agencies and has been arrested by Pct. 1 before for theft of a firearm, which he was convicted of.
The constable urged everyone to be vigilant and pay attention to their surroundings while walking or biking on a trail.
