The two men are accused of shooting and killing Devin “DJ” Powers Jr., who died of his injuries on July 2, according to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — Two men have been arrested in connection to a deadly double shooting that occurred on June 26 in Macclenny, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Jamarian Byrd, 22, and Travis Roberts Jr., 24, each face charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery, three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and discharging a firearm in public.
Deputies say the two men are accused of shooting and killing Devin “DJ” Powers Jr., who died of his injuries on Wednesday, July 2, according to BCSO.
The shooting happened at the intersection of South Boulevard West and Quail Lane.
“Sheriff Scotty Rhoden extends his heartfelt condolences to the family of DJ Powers and wants to remind the community that gun violence has no place in Baker County,” a BCSO news release states.
Powers was one of two people hospitalized with gunshot wounds following the shooting. Undersheriff Randy Crews told First Coast News one victim is a minor and the other is an adult. It is unclear if Powers is the minor or adult in this incident.
