Suspect in 2021 restaurant murder acquitted

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene of a shooting incident at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront around 10 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Friday, Oct. 17, Cory Hall was cleared of all charges.

Hall’s defense team, Rier Jordan, P.A., issued a statement saying:

From the beginning, Mr. Hall and our legal representatives insisted on his entitlement to a thorough, fair, and impartial legal process. We are grateful for the jury’s careful consideration and the hard work of the legal team involved in this matter.

With the legal proceedings concluded in Mr. Hall’s favor, we urge both the media and the community to respect his privacy and uphold the principle that innocence prevails beyond the courtroom. With the allegations dismissed, he is eager to continue with his life free from these accusations.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the many individuals who supported Mr. Hall throughout this process, including his family, friends, and supporters. Their confidence, loyalty, and encouragement have been invaluable during this long and challenging journey

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in the deadly shooting at a restaurant connected to the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront hotel on Saturday night.

Investigators say an arrest warrant has been issued for 29-year-old Cory Deshawn Hall for murder and attempted murder.

Police responded to the shooting around 10 p.m. As officers launched their investigation, guests at the hotel were told to stay in their rooms.

Police believe an altercation in the restaurant led to the shooting of two victims, according to the JSO. One victim died in the shooting, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Hall has black hair and black facial hair under his chin. He is 5’7” and 150 lbs. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
