CHICAGO (WLS) — Multiple Chicago museums are offering free admission for Illinois residents.

Here is the 2025 list announced by Choose Chicago:
Art Institute of Chicago
Free admission on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 25. Reservations are required.
Admission is always free for Chicago teens under the age of 18, all children under age 14, Link and WIC cardholders, active-duty military, and Illinois educators.

Adler Planetarium
Free admission on every Wednesday evening from 4 to 10 p.m.
Admission is always free for Illinois educators from pre-K through 12th grade.
Chicago History Museum
Illinois residents can get in for free on Sept. 1, 10, and 24; Oct. 8, 13, 25; Nov. 6, 12, 19.
Field Museum
Free basic admission every Wednesday through Sept. 24, 2025.
The free tickets include exhibits, such as Evolving Planet, The Ancient Americas, and Inside Ancient Egypt.
Griffin Museum of Science and Industry
Free admission on Sept. 2 – 4, 7 – 10, 14 – 17, 22 – 24, 29, 30 and Oct. 1, 6 – 8, 14, 15.
DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center
Free admission for all every Wednesday.
Museum of Contemporary Art
Free admission every Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
Illinois residents receive free admission every Thursday.
