A Minnesota man who posed as a high school football player by using a fake identity has been accused of sexually abusing teenage girls.

Kelvin Luebke, a 22-year-old, was apprehended last month for pretending to be a senior at White Bear Lake High School after a young girl identified him from a mugshot related to a separate arrest, recognizing him as her classmate.

On Monday, law enforcement pursued a search warrant for his phone due to disturbing claims made by parents and students. These included reports from several young female students who stated he had been in contact with them, according to KARE 11 News.

Police also included reports from numerous worried parents who mentioned ‘potential incidents of sexual assault’ to the school on September 30 as additional justification for the warrant.

A school resource officer is also investigating a disturbing claim that Luebke received nude photos from a teenage girl under 18 while impersonating a high schooler.

Luebke was arrested and jailed in Washington County for a probation violation in an unrelated case last week, but has since been released.

If the warrant is approved, White Bear Lake police plan to comb through his texts, social media messages and photos – though as of Wednesday evening, he has yet to be formally charged.

‘I’m scared that they’re not keeping our kids safe. I don’t understand how this man got into my kid’s school,’ mother-of-three April Jorgenson told CBS News.

‘You need to have a record and you need to have a physical to do these activities,’ she added. ‘We just can’t figure out how this happened.’

The warrant application revealed that Luebke had slipped through the school’s front doors completely unnoticed for 19 days, as reported by KARE 11.

According to District Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak, Luebke registered as a homeless, unaccompanied youth student.

‘He also presented a birth certificate from another country showing that he was 18 years old and eligible for high school enrollment,’ Kazmierczak said, according to the outlet.

‘Throughout the enrollment process, there was no reason to believe the official birth certificate was fraudulent,’ she added.

‘The provided birth certificate included authentic watermarking and official stamps/seals. There was no indication that the document was anything less than authentic.’

Principal Russell Reetz confirmed in a letter to parents that an individual ‘over the age of 21’ had slipped through the school district’s safeguards to enroll at the school.

‘Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of of all students is our top priority,’ the principal concluded, noting that the discovery was made by ‘staff members, families and students who saw something and decided to report it.’

He also appeared on the roster for the school’s football team, and there are at least two online profiles for a college recruiting site with Luebke’s name saying he was graduating in 2023 and 2024 from different high schools in Minnesota.

In a letter, Reetz also verified that Luebke used fraudulent documents and a false identity to enroll, adding, ‘the individual in question is currently in police custody and is not allowed on any district property.’

Police were alerted after Luebke was arrested by another law enforcement agency and booked into Anoka County Jail before being transferred to Washington County Jail. He was released the following day.

It was also revealed that Luebke’s arrest stemmed from a probation violation after he pleaded guilty in 2023 to one count of indecent exposure, according to MPR News

In 2023, when he was 20, Luebke allegedly sent nude photos to a 15-year-old girl on Snapchat, who immediately blocked his account.

According to charging documents obtained by the outlet, he contacted the girl on a separate platform and, when blocked a second time, allegedly threatened to expose explicit photos of her.

A judge granted a restraining order for the now 17-year-old girl after her mother filed a petition describing Luebke as her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.

Her mother alleged that from July to September, Luebke would show up uninvited at her daughter’s home and workplace, intimidate her on dates by yelling and film her without consent.

Luebke allegedly lied about his age, telling the teen he was also 17 and showing her a birth certificate to prove it, according to her mother.

On Monday, a judge granted a second restraining order for the teen after her mother filed a motion claiming that Luebke had ‘made inappropriate advances’ toward her daughter since 2023, causing lasting damage to her mental health, according to MPR.

This past summer, recent high school graduate Honesti Jones worked alongside Luebke selling door-to-door for a remodeling company, only to be stunned to learn he was older than 18, contrary to what he had told her.

‘His whole demeanor and his personality and everything, like, it gives younger,’ Jones told MPR News.

‘What he talks about, the way he talks about stuff, like, it doesn’t give 22, so I believed him when he said that,’ she added.

She claimed that he told her that ‘his documents were messed up because his parents were from Liberia.’

Jones, who trained Luebke for the role and often spoke with him during breaks, said she didn’t notice any immediate red flags but did ‘get weird vibes’ – especially with his choice in women.

‘Every story, and even pictures, like, of people that he would show me on his phone that he talked to, like, they’re all white,’ she told the outlet.

‘They’re all like, younger, white girls.’

Court records obtained by The New York Post also showed that Luebke has prior convictions for criminal traffic violations and disorderly conduct.

The incident has left parents and students angry, with many blaming district officials for unknowingly allowing an adult male to attend school and participate in sports for nearly a month.

‘The superintendent should step down,’ one anonymous student told CBS News. ‘I think the people who were overseeing this issue and let this slip past need to face the consequences.’

Republican state Rep. Elliott Engen – himself a graduate of the school – demanded the superintendent resign and pushed for stronger laws to prevent similar incidents.

‘So many things have to go wrong for this to occur. First and foremost, it starts at the top,’ Engen told CBS.

‘Leadership needs to be held accountable,’ he added. ‘Parents should trust that when their kids go to school, they’re going to be safe.’
