VERNON HILLS, Ill. (WLS) — our-year-old Zorien Royce, from Vernon Hills, recently became one of the youngest members worldwide accepted into both Mensa and Intertel, two of the world’s most prestigious high-IQ societies.
At just three years old, Zorien scored 156 out of 160 on the Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children, placing him in the “profoundly gifted” category. Zorien can read at a 3rd-grade level and can count in five different languages: English, French, Spanish, Bengali, and Hindi.
Zorien and his parents, Naqib and Monirupa, joined ABC7 on Wednesday morning. His parents say they support Zorien’s development by following his curiosity. “He enjoys soccer and loves reading books. So, most of the time, our goal is to understand what he wants rather than what we want out of him,” Monirupa, Zorien’s mother said.
Zorien says his favorite place is the library, and for now, he dreams of becoming a NASA scientist. The four-year-old is well on his way after acing a test to name all eight planets in the solar system on ABC7’s 7 a.m. streaming newscast.
At just four-years old, Zorien Royce is already a member of Mensa and Intertel, some of the world’s most elite intelligence groups.
