Davion Murphy was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree and three counts of attempted murder in the first degree.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The fifth suspect in the death of Jacksonville rapper Charles Jones, known as ‘Foolio,’ appeared in a Duval County courtroom Tuesday, ahead of his extradition to Hillsborough County.
Davion Murphy, 27, was arrested Monday night at an apartment on Labelle Street in the rapper’s hometown.
JSO said Murphy was “wanted for murder” in Foolio’s death. Foolio was killed in an ambush shooting on June 26 in Tampa, which police say was part of an ongoing gang war in which he was locked in for years before his death.
Murphy was arrested on a warrant out of Hillsborough County.
He was read charges of murder in the first degree, conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree and three counts of attempted murder in the first degree.
Murphy was not granted bond for any of the charges.
He will return to court on Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. to arrange plans for Hillsborough deputies to receive him and extradite him.
Four other suspects have been arrested in this case: Isaiah Chance, 21, Alicia Andrews, 21, Sean Gathright, 18, and Rashad Murphy, 30.
