A 7-month-old baby girl was discovered in a stranger’s yard, having been “spared” by a killer who took the lives of the infant’s parents, grandmother, and teenage uncle earlier this week, as per Tennessee officials.
The young child, unfortunately left without parents, was found unharmed and alone at the property of an “unknown individual” in Tigrett, Tenn., on Tuesday at approximately 3:10 p.m., after being left there by an unidentified van, according to The Bellingham Herald, citing the Dyer County Sheriff.
About five hours later, investigators made a grisly discovery 40 miles away while attempting to locate the child’s guardians, WREG reported.
Her parents, Matthew Wilson, 21, and Adrianna Williams, 20, along with maternal grandmother Cortney Rose, 38, and uncle Braydon Williams, 15, were found deceased along Carrington Road in Tiptonville.
There are no further details regarding the cause or circumstances of their death — but the scene was described as “more than your typical homicide” by Dyer County District Attorney Danny Goodman, according to WREG.
“We’re just thankful that the baby was spared, grateful for that,” family friend Amy Anderson told the outlet.
“They were really good people, Adrianna was the sweetest person, she loved being a mama,” Anderson told the outlet. “[Wilson] was a wonderful daddy. He loved the baby. And Cortney, she loved the kids.”
“It’s tragic. It’s tearing everybody apart. Everybody don’t know what to think, there’s been rumors here and there, but I just wish everybody would slow down on the rumors,” Anderson said.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations announced a homicide investigation into the four mysterious deaths Wednesday and are in search of a suspect or suspects.
“There’s always concern when there is a suspect or suspects out on, that we have not yet caught. So, anyone who knows of anything, please report it,” TBI public information officer Kim Wheeler-Elder said at a news conference, according to KFVS.
TBI has called in the Federal Bureau of Investigations to conduct the homicide investigation.
