() A business owner in Chicago is speaking out about violent attacks at her restaurant that were caught on camera.

Back in December, surveillance video captured one of Jackson’s employees fighting off someone who approached from behind the counter as other employees fled in fear, according to local affiliate WGN-TV. Jackson said a month later that more people jumped over the counter and caused problems.

“The key is to try to hold these parents accountable for the kids,” Jackie Johnson, who owns Fatburger & Buffalo’s Express in the Chatham neighborhood, told .

Jackson acknowledged she tried to deal with the matter privately to protect her staff.

“I did not want this video to get out because I did not want retaliation against my staff,” she said. “I needed everybody to stay safe.”

Jackson eventually posted the video to social media, not realizing it would accumulate millions of views and a strong reaction from the community.

“As a result of this, something negative is ending up turning very positive because most of the community saw it,” said Jackson.

“They were really outraged, and they stepped up and they stood behind me and they want to support the business and they want to make sure that we get rid of some of this crime,” Jackson added.

Jackson said business is still struggling and she’s had to lay off some of her employees, but she’s committed to doing her part by employing young people to make Chicago safer.
