A 95-year-old woman experiencing dementia was taken into custody on Tuesday, two days following her alleged assault on another resident of a Coney Island nursing home with a piece of metal from a wheelchair.

Galina Smirnova was arrested Tuesday afternoon for purportedly hitting 89-year-old Holocaust survivor Nina Kravtsov several times on the head. The altercation occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, as reported by authorities.

Kravtsov, discovered in her bed with a bleeding head injury, was quickly transported to NYU Brooklyn Hospital. There, she was initially categorized as being in critical condition, according to police and sources.

She died from her injuries early Monday, cops said.

“I was devastated,” daughter Lucy Flom told The Post. “My friends are saying they can’t believe it because it only happens in movies.”

Flom said her mother was a Holocaust survivor who lived in Ukraine before moving to the US and settling down in Brighton Beach with her husband — always sacrificing for others.

Smirnova was taken to Coney Island Hospital for both a physical and psychiatric evaluation after the deadly clash, sources previously said.

The nonagenarian has been hit with murder and criminal possession of weapons charges, according to police.

This is a developing story. Please check back for more information.
