MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (WJW) We’ve all been there. You go to the freezer and discover your ice cream has been eaten, and not by you.

The exact thing prompted a 4-year-old boy in a small Wisconsin town to call the police earlier this month.

On March 4, Mount Pleasant police said they were sent to a home after a little boy called 911 to say “his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail” and then hung up.

Upon arrival, the boy first told the two officers he called authorities after his mom ate his ice cream and that jail was probably the only option. He then changed his mind and said he “no longer wanted her to go to jail and just wanted some ice cream,” police said.

In police body-worn camera footage, seen at the top of the story, officers are heard explaining to the boy, “No calling 911 unless it’s a real emergency, OK?”

The officers showed up the next day with ice cream in tow as a sweet surprise.
