For someone who shot to fame at a young age, Selena Gomez managed to maintain some sense of normalcy by surrounding herself with friends who avoided the spotlight.

The Texas-born actress is now embroiled in an explosive ‘feud’ with a former friend who is threatening to ‘expose’ an anonymous major celebrity.

Selena, 32, was friends with Caroline Franklin, 37, for the past decade.

While the Only Murders in the Building star is still close with Caroline’s sister Connar, and even attended her glamorous wedding, she hasn’t been seen with Caroline since July 2023.

However, between July 2023 and November 2024, Selena unfollowed Caroline, with many fans thinking it was about the election, as they suggested the Calm Down singer may have started rethinking her friendships.

Now, Caroline is threatening to expose a nameless celebrity on social media, with many of Selena’s fans assuming it’s the pop star, especially as she alludes to a decade-long friendship.

A source exclusively told DailyMail.com, ‘Selena is not worried about Caroline. No one is,’ adding that Caro’s recent behavior ‘feels like attention seeking.’

During the election cycle, Caroline made her devotion to Donald Trump clear, posting pictures of herself shaking his hand as well as photos with her brother, who works for the America First Policy Institute and served as the Executive Director of Evangelicals for Trump.

The Wizards of Waverly Place star, who is a third-generation American-Mexican, made waves when she shared a video crying on social media about deportation. At the same time, Caroline was posting pro-Trump content all over Instagram and attended the inauguration alongside her family.

Before their dramatic friendship split, they were pictured together repeatedly starting in 2015, taking girls’ trips and spending time with their group of gal pals, including Raquel Stevens, Courtney Lopez and Ashley Cook.

In 2019, they ventured to Boston and enjoyed a holiday the same year. They vacationed in Paris with their friendship group and shared Instagram photos back in May 2023 and dined together in Manhattan that spring. The sisters even worked with the Rare Beauty founder, posing for her Puma campaign in November 2018.

After Trump won the 2024 election, Caroline posted a shot of his face with the number 47 on it over the caption ‘you did it,’ and she often reposts Joe Rogan videos, cementing her support for the MAGA movement.

She has spent time in Palm Beach at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private club and what’s often referred to as the winter White House.

Her father, Jentezen Franklin, is the senior pastor of the Free Chapel in Gainesville, Georgia, who worked with Trump during his first term in presidency as an evangelical leader.

Despite their family’s steadfast support of Trump, model Connar has avoided aligning herself with him politically and did not attend the inauguration and the balls with the rest of her family.

The Good For You songstress is still following Connar, and has seemingly distanced herself from the family, who she previously spent time with.

‘Selena is very much still friends with her sister,’ a source confirmed to DailyMail.com.

On February 19, Caroline posted: ‘And to all the phony celebrities who talk about human rights and feminism, but will never mention this mother and her babies… you guys are so full of s***t. Performative activism at its finest.’

A source confirmed that Selena believes the post is 100 percent about her, and added that she does not let politics get in between her and her friends.

In the Instagram Story, Caro called the stars ‘such losers,’ and added: ‘I know you will see this.’

Caroline then promised: ‘When I decide how and when to expose you…I will address it with the most detail and sincerity to the 10 year friendship I experienced and survived. Under oath.’

She quickly deleted the Instagram Stories, which were in reference to celebrities not speaking out against the deaths of Israeli mother Shiri Bibas and her children Ariel and Kfir who were kidnapped on October 7, 2023 and murdered.

A source told DailyMail.com that the post attacking Gigi was ‘the last straw’ for Selena and her friends.

At the same time, Selena released her single Call Me When You Break Up alongside Gracie Abrams and her fiancé, producer Benny Blanco, offering no response to the Instagram Stories.

One reason Selena is allegedly able to walk away from her former friendships is because Benny, 36, has been supporting her and shares her liberal politics.

‘She has a lot of love in her life with Benny and neither of them support the actions of the current administration,’ another source revealed.

Now, it’s possible the Emilia Pérez actress will be cutting down the guest list for her wedding, with Caroline unlikely to attend, especially after her veiled threats.
