Jesus Manuel Huchin-Interian of Gresham outside Portland was on the lam for three years after the horror before finally being nabbed and brought to justice April 18 — when he pleaded guilty in a deal expected to give him 70 months behind bars.

Huchin-Interian had gone into a jealous rage in June 2021 when he suspected his wife of cheating on him, prosecutors said.

He grabbed a knife and threatened to “finish her” and “finish the kids,” officials said.

He ended up cutting his wife’s throat, leaving an 8-inch gash.

That’s when the couple’s 10-year old daughter leapt into action, grabbing another knife and threatening her father before dropping the weapon and running “to her room with her little siblings and [locking] the door,” according to the district attorney’s office.

She then frantically called the cops as her father fled.

The mom miraculously recovered from her wounds, authorities said.

Huchin-Interian wasn’t tracked down by police investigators till March 2024, when he was nabbed in San Francisco.

Multnomah County Senior Deputy District Attorney Robin Beck Skarstad, who prosecuted the case for the state, praised the daughter for her actions.

“This case underscores the devastating impact domestic violence has on children in the home,” Skarstad said in a press release last week.

“The victim’s young daughter showed bravery and resilience that truly inspires us to work hard every day to interrupt the cycle of abuse and to keep families safe.”
