ABC’s newest series, “Home For Good,” brings a refreshing twist to home renovation shows by not just upgrading houses, but altering lives in the most profound ways.

Hosted by Art Edmonds, the show focuses on delivering significant transformations to those who truly deserve it. As Edmonds tells On The Red Carpet, “Home for Good” is dedicated to individuals such as first responders, military veterans, and community heroes—people who consistently prioritize others over themselves.

“The show is really about celebrating stories of triumph over tragedy,” Edmonds shares, highlighting the uplifting nature of the series. Each episode features heroes who have faced remarkable challenges, with the goal of making everyday living just a bit easier for them.

The transformations are tailored to meet the unique needs of these individuals. For instance, the team might create a tranquil bedroom for a first responder working night shifts, allowing them to rest peacefully during the day. Or, they might install a handicap access ramp from a backyard deck, granting someone the freedom to enjoy their yard after years of inaccessibility. These thoughtful changes make a monumental difference in the lives of those featured.

“Whether it’s creating a safe bedroom space when a first responder works overnight on the night shift and they need to sleep during the day. Maybe it’s a handicap access ramp from a backyard deck so somebody can get down into their yard where they haven’t been in years. All of these things really change their lives.”

After the heroes meet with the design team, the construction team has seven days to renovate the space that will “best serve them,” as Edmonds puts it.

The show is as feel-good as it is emotional! We asked Edmonds what that moment leading up to the big reveal feels like.

“That moment where I bring the individual or the family into that space, their eyes are covered, and we recap – We had a long week together. We’ve experienced highs and lows together – and then they see their space for the first time. It’s uplifting, inspiring and emotional all at the same time,” he says.

“Home For Good” airs weekend mornings on ABC stations. Check local listings for accurate airtimes.
