During this week in Los Angeles, Bill Hader surprised a news crew by offering to assist them in reporting on the wildfires affecting Southern California.

The 46-year-old Saturday Night Live alum’s photo appeared in an X post shared by ABC reporter Josh Haskell on Friday.

A post by Haskell on a social media platform revealed the incident, stating that a local resident affected by the Palisades fire approached a news van, seemingly wanting to help out. The individual then revealed himself by removing his mask and smiling – to the surprise of the team, it was Bill Hader.

Bill was clad in dark gray joggers, a hooded black shirt, white and gray sneakers, and a protective white KN95 face mask.

The journalist described the occurrence as ‘an only in LA moment.’

Per Josh’s account, Hader, who flashed a peace sign in the photo, ‘couldn’t have been nicer.’

The longtime comedian’s home in the Pacific Palisades was left standing amid the wreckage surrounding it.

The star is one of dozens of A-listers who have been forced to evacuate their luxury properties as fast-moving flames threaten to scorch the city.

Nearly every other residence on the actor’s block street was burned to the ground in the blaze.

He purchased the home for $4.2 million in 2019, and it appeared intact with a silver SUV still parked in the driveway.

With the assistance of brave firefighters and by mere coincidence, some other stars have been able to keep their properties safe from going up in flames.

Tom Hanks, Rebel Wilson, Tom Brady, Chris Pratt, Dan Aykroyd, Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Love Hewitt have all seen their homes spared.

Meanwhile, homes belonging to Anthony Hopkins, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, Candy Spelling, Heidi Montag, John Goodman and Miles Teller have been decimated.

The devastation in Southern California unfolded on Tuesday morning when the combination of heavy wind and a lack of rain created the perfect condition for a brush fire.

The flames quickly spread throughout the Pacific Palisades, which was home to celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Anna Farris, Tyra Banks, and many more.

As of Friday evening, 21,317 acres of land have been scorched in the Palisades fire alone, with firefighters still working around the clock to contain the flames.

Paris Hilton, Hailey Bieber, Chris Pratt and his mother-in-law Maria Shriver are just a few public figures who have asked for prayers amid the unprecedented wreckage.
