Actor John Capodice, best known for his roles in “Ace Ventura” and “Seinfeld,” died Monday at age 83.

The actor’s death was revealed on the New Jersey’s Pizzi Funeral Home website, who described Capodice as a “devoted husband, father and grandfather.”

The tribute added that he will be “missed by all who had the pleasure to meet him.”

A cause of death has yet to be announced.

During his decades-long career, the Chicago native appeared in a slew of high-profile shows and films, including “Ace Ventura” alongside Jim Carrey.

In the hit 1994 film, Capodice played a police officer who was dismissive of Carrey’s pet detective.

The actor also starred on “General Hospital” from 1994 to 1996, playing Carmine Cerullo in six episodes of the soap opera.

He also worked on “Seinfeld,” appearing in the seventh episode of the show’s second season, titled “The Revenge.”

In a particular TV episode, he played the role of Vic, the owner of a laundromat. During the episode, Kramer destroys one of Vic’s machines by filling it with cement. This happens after Jerry and Kramer suspect Vic of stealing money.

Capodice was born on Christmas Day in 1941. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1964 to 1966. Upon completing his service, he began his acting career in the late 1970s.

Capodice boasted other acting credits, including roles in “Wall Street,” “The Doors,” “Honeymoon in Vegas” and “Independence Day.”

Aside from his role on the TV episode mentioned earlier, Capodice has also made appearances in various popular TV shows such as “CSI,” “Law & Order,” “Will & Grace,” “Melrose Place,” “Mad About You,” “Six Feet Under,” “The West Wing,” and “Murder, She Wrote.”

However, his first TV role was in “Ryan’s Hope” where he appeared in six episodes as Lloyd Lord.

Tributes for the beloved actor have been pouring in on social media, as fans remembered Capodice’s many roles over the years.

One fan wrote on X, “Rest in Peace, John Capodice. @GeneralHospital fans will remember him as Lois’ dad, Carmine Cerullo, but I’ll remember the years when he lived near me, doted on his grandchildren, and loved to eat out at local restaurants.”

A second fan wrote, “He’s just a great guy! 😭 RIP,” while a third simply added, “RIP John Capodice.”

Capodice is survived by his wife Jane, daughters Tessa De Pierro and Cassandra Hansen, and four grandchildren: David, Jake, Frankie and Giuliana.
