Sebastian Harrison, a White Apache actor, recently shared his harrowing experience of escaping the Los Angeles wildfires that threatened his Malibu home. The 59-year-old actor, known for his roles in action movies, detailed how he was prepared to jump into the ocean to survive the flames.
Harrison took to Instagram to recount the terrifying incident that unfolded as the wildfires surrounded their three-acre, $2.4 million oceanfront property. The actor, who resides with his wife Livia Pillmann and 89-year-old father, described the home as their ‘sanctuary’ that was in grave danger.
On Friday, he opened up to CNN about his desperate escape, explaining that his initial plan was to stay behind and fight the fire.
Despite having faced similar situations in the past, Harrison revealed that he initially planned to stay back and defend the property as he had seen others do. However, realizing the severity of the situation, he made the difficult decision to evacuate and have a backup plan in place.
The actor, who starred in Viet Cong in Fireback (1983), continued, ‘So when I saw the fire trucks just quickly leave, I thought, “Oh, that’s not a good sign.”‘
In that moment, he tried to start his car—only for it to fail. ‘I got back out, and I saw this whole hurricane of embers going towards me, and I thought I’m doomed.’

‘I had to duck behind these rocks. I’m ready to jump into the ocean if need be,’ he recalled.
Thankfully, just moments later, firefighters arrived and helped him find safety.
But tragically, his home, which he had purchased in 2010, was reduced to ashes.
The property was once the site of The Malibu Lodge, a restaurant that operated in the 1940s and early ’50s, frequented by Hollywood luminaries like Gone with the Wind producer David Selznick, according to Harrison.
Boasting unobstructed views of the Pacific, the estate sat on a stretch of land with no neighboring houses on the ocean side.
The couple expressed their devastation over the loss of their cherished home.
‘We put so much time and effort and love into building a sanctuary in our home, you know, and it’s really devastating to see that burn in front of my husband’s eyes,’ Livia told The Telegraph.
‘It is heartbreaking to see all this work and love of labour, you know that we put into our place, and our safe haven is gone,’ she added.

As the fires continue to rage, the couple and many others are left grappling with the heartbreaking loss of their homes in one of the hardest-hit areas of Los Angeles.
