The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Canadian actor Spencer Lofranco, whose brother confirmed his passing on Thursday.

WASHINGTON — Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian actor recognized for his roles in films like “Gotti” and “Jamesy Boy,” passed away on Tuesday at the age of 33.

His brother, Santino Lofranco, shared the heartbreaking news via social media on Thursday before making his account private.

“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of,” Santino expressed in the caption of his now-private post. “You changed people’s lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.”

Spencer Lofranco gained widespread recognition for his performance in the 2018 crime-thriller “Gotti,” where he portrayed John A. Gotti alongside John Travolta, who played the notorious mob boss John Gotti. The film delves into the story of the Gambino crime family in New York City.

He also played Harry Brooks in “Unbroken,” a 2014 World War II movie directed by Angelina Jolie.

Lofranco, son to a lawyer father and model and actress mother, began acting when he was 13 years old, according to his IMDb.

His first on-screen credit was in the 2013 rom-com “At Middleton,” and he decided to pursue acting at 17 instead of becoming a hockey player or lawyer like his father wanted, he said in a 2014 interview with Interview Magazine. He attended the New York Film Academy for a year before landing the leading role in “Jamesy Boy,” a movie about a young gang member turning his life around in prison.

Officials are investigating his death and no cause has been announced at this time. No additional information is currently known.
