Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has announced that SNAP benefits will be halted this weekend due to the ongoing government shutdown, as her department has explored “every possible avenue” without success.

“It’s quite astonishing that the Democrats are toying with the needs of the most vulnerable at this time. They’ve voted 12 times to maintain the government shutdown,” Rollins remarked.

The Trump administration has indicated that the funding for this critical food assistance program, which aids 42 million Americans in managing their grocery expenses, is about to be depleted.
