In a dramatic incident at LaGuardia Airport late Sunday night, an Air Canada flight encountered an unexpected obstacle during landing when it collided with a vehicle on the runway. The crash left at least two individuals in critical condition, according to reports.
Originating from Montreal, the flight touched down at approximately 11:40 pm. As it made its descent, the aircraft unexpectedly struck a Port Authority vehicle that was present on the runway. A spokesperson from the Port Authority relayed this information to the Daily Mail, confirming the unusual nature of the incident.
Further details revealed that the vehicle involved was responding to a separate emergency when the collision occurred. This intersection of events resulted in the aircraft’s severe nose damage, visibly tilting its front end upwards on the tarmac.
Operating under the banner of Jazz Aviation, a regional airline based in Nova Scotia, the flight was part of the Air Canada network. The incident has underscored the complex dynamics of airport operations, where multiple activities can converge in unexpected ways.
