In a surprising turn of events, several major airports across the United States have decided against screening a video featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. In the video, Noem points the finger at Democrats for the ongoing government shutdown. The decision not to air the video stems from concerns over its appropriateness, as voiced by officials, including a representative from a New York county who deemed the content unsuitable.
The airports opting out include prominent hubs such as Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Portland International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, JFK International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport. These airports have collectively rejected a request from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to broadcast a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) video. The video features Noem discussing how the shutdown might lead to disruptions in airport operations due to staffing shortages, particularly since TSA employees are not receiving their salaries during this period.
