Aisha Dee Unveils Insights and Behind-the-Scenes Secrets of Hulu’s Hit Series ‘Watching You

“Watching You” unfolds the tale of Lina, portrayed by Aisha Dee, a paramedic in Australia who is blissfully engaged but occasionally finds herself making questionable decisions.

At a gathering hosted by her friends, Lina has a brief encounter with a man named Dan, leading to a one-night stand. In a surprising twist, someone secretly records their rendezvous and sends the footage to Lina. As she embarks on a quest to uncover the culprit, Lina, her friends, and her fiancé become ensnared in a web of peril.

“Essentially, this encounter with a stranger sets off a chain reaction in her life, causing things to unravel and… plenty of chaos. Sexy chaos,” Dee shared with On The Red Carpet. “The first three episodes compared to the latter three take a significant turn, delving deeper and impacting you in a truly unexpected way.”

What drew Lina to Dan, this enigmatic figure who has suddenly entered her life?

“The intriguing aspect of their relationship is the power struggle,” Dee explained. “It’s two individuals vying to be in control. Dan represents the first person to challenge her in a novel way, and I think they reflect each other’s traumas.”

The idea of her character being watched and filmed was intriguing to Dee, but also a little unnerving!

“I think the themes of the show are so universal for people, even though it’s this kind of heightened world where someone is literally being videotaped and blackmailed with the video tape,” she said. “We’re kind of so deeply accessible at all times and that’s kind of unsettling.”

Dee said the script kept her guessing until the end and believes the audiences will be on the edge of their seats as well.
