Alabama Barker was recently hospitalized after suffering from nicotine withdrawal, according to a new report.
Alabama, the 19-year-old daughter of Travis Barker from Blink-182 and his ex, Shanna Moakler, had a health scare that landed her in the hospital after she dialed 911, according to a report by TMZ.
The outlet reported that a panicked Alabama, who quit vaping a month ago, was alone and feeling unwell when she made the emergency call.
She was taken to a hospital in the Los Angeles area, where healthcare professionals examined her. They determined that her symptoms were due to nicotine withdrawal.
Apparently, Alabama had abruptly stopped using vape pens, and the medical staff informed her that stopping suddenly like that can result in withdrawal symptoms, even with only occasional use.
It’s not clear when exactly Alabama was admitted to the hospital.
The Post reached out to Alabama’s rep for comment.
Described by TMZ as being only an occasional vape smoker, Alabama appears to have already been released from the doctor’s care as she was home in time to celebrate her birthday on Christmas Eve.
She reportedly stopped vaping after individuals in the music industry advised her to quit, stressing the damage that vaping could have on her voice.
Alabama released her music video for her rap track “Vogue” on Dec. 13. Featuring cameos from her dad Travis Barker and her step-mom Kourtney Kardashian-Barker, “Vogue” was her first music video.
This is a developing story.
