In TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT), Alabama basketball player Aden Holloway found himself in legal trouble on Monday following the discovery of marijuana, related paraphernalia, and cash at a Tuscaloosa residence.
The 21-year-old athlete faces charges of first-degree marijuana possession and neglecting to attach a tax stamp. According to Stephanie Taylor of the Tuscaloosa Police Department, officers seized more than a pound of marijuana along with paraphernalia and cash from a property located on 30th Avenue East.
Following his arrest, Holloway was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bail was set at $5,000.
Holloway has been a key player for Alabama’s basketball team, joining after transferring from Auburn University in 2024. His impressive performance earned him a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team that year, and he was named to the third-team All-SEC this season.
This past season, Holloway has been a standout, averaging 16.8 points and 3.8 assists per game.
The No. 4 seed Tide is set to face Hofstra during the first round of March Madness Friday.
