TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — An Alabama man was arrested following a hit-and-run that left a woman with life-threatening injuries Sunday night.
Tuscaloosa police confirm the crash happened at the intersection of James Harrison Parkway and Greensboro Avenue around 9:28 pm. The driver was attempting to turn onto Greensboro when they allegedly struck a 34-year-old woman. Police said the driver initially stopped, but left as officers were arriving at the scene.
Police identified the driver as 44-year-old Granville Jermaine Hardy. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and was placed into the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Investigators stated they do not believe Hardy was impaired at the time of the crash.
The woman was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center was treatment, and later flown to a hospital in Huntsville for further care.
