Alec Baldwin jokes kids ‘want more money’ to film Season 2 of reality show

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s seven kids have some demands before filming another potential season of the family’s hit reality show.

During a recent conversation with People, the actor from “30 Rock” humorously mentioned his kids’ demands for “more money” before agreeing to a new season of “The Baldwins” on TLC.

According to Alec, his kids are “already renegotiating their contract, they want more money, they want a lot more money, so we’ll see what happens.”

He also gushed about his “pack” with Hilaria during the interview published on Tuesday.

He emphasized that his children genuinely enjoy themselves and are content with the setup, stating that there is no fabrication or pretense involved. Although they have social interactions like playdates, they prefer to spend time together at home.

Alec elaborated on his children, referring to them as a tight-knit group who simply prefer each other’s company. He expressed that the portrayal of their family life on the show accurately reflects their real-life dynamics.

However, the “Beetlejuice” star didn’t shy away from the fact that “The Baldwins” began filming just one month before his involuntary manslaughter trial kicked off in New Mexico last July.

Alec pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed on the set of the movie “Rust” in October 2021.

The case was ultimately dismissed with prejudice after it was found that prosecutors withheld evidence that could have helped Alec’s defense. The prosecution then dropped their appeal in December.

“When I think of the reality show, many things occur to me after the fact like when we were doing it, it was a bit of a unique time for us, but afterward when we did it, I realized that that’s who we are,” the actor said about filming “The Baldwins” amid his legal woes.

“The Baldwins” features Alec, 66, and Hilaria, 41, as they “invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids,” according to a TLC press release following an official announcement of the show last June.

“For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the non-stop love, laughter and drama,” the network added at the time.

The first episode of “The Baldwins” premiered on Feb. 23, and while it featured many wild moments with Alec, Hilaria and their children – Carmen, 11; Rafael, 9; Leonardo, 8; Romeo, 6; Eduardo and Marilu, 4; and Ilaria, 2 – it also included some serious segments about the actor’s “Rust” trial.

Hilaria, in the latest episode from Mar. 9, revealed how she penned their kids “little letters” before flying to New Mexico to support her embattled husband at his trial.

“I wrote [the kids] all little letters… and I hid them,” she confessed. “I told my friend [who was babysitting] where they were if something happened to us.”

Alec, who is said to be debating moving his family “outside of New York” as a result of all the “stress and pressure of public life,” also opened up about his trial during segments on “The Baldwins.”

“I had an emotional, mental, neurological inability to focus and to concentrate,” he said regarding the three years between Hutchins’ death and his trial. “And that’s not me. I have a photographic memory.”

“My memory is shot,” Alec added. “I can’t remember anything anymore.”

“The Baldwins” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on TLC.
