Alexa Ray Joel, the daughter of music legend Billy Joel, recently shared a heartfelt tribute following the news of her father’s diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus and subsequent cancellation of all upcoming concerts.

In her message, Alexa praised her father as the “strongest and most resilient man I’ve ever known” and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and love from fans during this challenging time.

“We love you and we got you, Pop,” Alexa captioned in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Accompanying her words was a poignant black and white painting depicting the iconic singer holding hands with a younger Alexa, capturing a tender moment between father and daughter.

“My Dad is the strongest and most resilient man I’ve ever known… and he’s entirely committed to making a full recovery with ongoing physical-therapy treatments as he continues to regain his strength,” she added.

On Friday, the “New York State of Mind” singer revealed he was forced to cancel all of his scheduled concerts amid his new health diagnosis.

“Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) is a condition that happens when cerebrospinal fluid builds up inside your skull and presses on your brain,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The condition, which can cause cognitive difficulties, happens in people over 65 and can be treated with surgery and “sometimes even reversible.”

The musician’s team suggested that continuing to tour would worsen his brain disorder.

“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance,” a statement on the “The Longest Time” performer’s Instagram page revealed on Friday. “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.”

“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” the “Uptown Girl” singer wrote.

All scheduled shows until July 3, 2026, have been canceled, including his show with Rod Stewart at Yankee Stadium on July 18, 2025, and his performance with Sting at Citi Field on August 21, 2025.

“The genuine care, empathy, and concern from everyone means so much to him,” Alexa said. “It means a lot to me, too.”

She ended her Instagram post with lyrics from the five-time Grammy winner’s song “Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel).”

“Someday We’ll All Be Gone / But Lullabies Go On And On / They Never Die / That’s How You And I Will Be.’ ⚓️ The music continues… 🕊️ All My Love, Alexa Ray,” she wrote.
