Devin Perkins was going 35 miles over the speed limit when a car going the wrong way crashed into him, killing his girlfriend and two friends.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The driver convicted of three counts of vehicular manslaughter in the 2022 crash that killed TikTok star Alexandra Dulin (known online as Ali Spice) and two friends, Kyle Moser and Ava Fellerman, was sentenced Monday.

Devin Perkins was Dulin’s boyfriend. She was nearing one million followers on TikTok at the time of her death, and had a significant platform on Instagram and YouTube.

Perkins was driving the car with the victims inside on State Road 44 near DeLand in Volusia County when the crash happened. He was convicted of driving nearly 100 mph, which was 35 mph over the speed limit.

Perkins’ car was hit by a wrong-way driver, who was also convicted in the case both for vehicular homicide and for leaving the scene. That driver, Thomas Petry, pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 37 years.

Perkins was the only person in the car to survive the crash.

He was facing up to 30 years, but was ultimately sentenced to 365 days in Volusia County Jail, First Coast News affiliate WESH2 reported. He will also receive one year of “community control” — essentially house arrest — and nine years of probation.

He will have his driver’s license revoked for 10 years.

According to WESH2, the victims’ families did not want him to serve jail time.

“This has been a long road for everyone, and I believe the time for suffering for everyone needs to end and I believe Devin has a chance in life and he should be given that,” Fellerman’s father said, according to WESH2. Kyle Moser’s mother said she hoped the families would get closure now that Perkins’ case is closed.

“Rest in peace to the victims, they were innocent in this case, and they didn’t deserve to have their lives taken by anyone’s action, including my own,” Perkins said in court.
