Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have shared the news of their engagement through a heartfelt social media update, which quickly garnered thousands of likes from their dedicated followers.

“Your English teacher and gym teacher are tying the knot,” Swift revealed on Instagram Tuesday afternoon, bringing joy to her 280 million fans.

The engagement ring is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut and appears to be from Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry

Lubeck, originally from Neptune Beach, Florida, is described in his biography as a “goldsmith, hand engraver, and vintage jewelry enthusiast.” He is now creating unique jewelry pieces in New York.

Like Swift, it seems like she’s experienced adversity. Her bio explains that she was ‘once told that she would never be a jewelry designer,’ and that’s when she decided to become one.

The unique pieces typically retail for $17,000 to $40,000, depending on the gemstones used.

Daily Mail reached out to jewelers to find out just how much the massive diamond costs and what makes it unique.

Swift shared a carousel of pictures showing Kelce getting down on one knee on Instagram, making sure to tag his ‘killatrav’ account, which boasts seven million followers.

Swift paired her new bling with a $490 preppy striped silk blend Ralph Lauren dress. The Grammy winner also wore her go-to $18,000 Cartier watch, which was heavily featured in the picture slideshow.

Fittingly, the sweet ‘So High School’ song she wrote about the Kansas City Chiefs football player played in the background.

George Khalife, known professionally as George the Jeweler, exclusively told Daily Mail, ‘This style is called a bezel setting (that’s the gold that wraps around the diamond) and it’s super popular right now, just like yellow gold in general.’

‘The whole look feels really antique, which I think suits Taylor perfectly,’ the celebrity jeweler said. George, who has worked with the Kardashian-Jenner family, Gigi Hadid, Shakira, and Megan Fox, believes ‘it looks close to 20 carats or more and would be valued between 3.5 to 5 million dollars.’

‘Because it’s set in yellow gold, it’s a little harder to tell the exact color, but I’d guess it’s at least F or G color with VVS clarity,’ the Detroit-based jeweler continued.

Nilesh Rakholia, jewelry expert and founder of Abelini, believes it’s more likely the ring is in the 7 to 10 carat range, ‘which immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings.’

‘What makes this design particularly striking is its blend of vintage charm and modern minimalism,’ Rakholia told Daily Mail.

‘The choice of yellow gold nods to antique inspirations, giving the ring a romantic, heirloom-like quality.’ Rakholia believes it’s likely the ring is closer to $1 million, which ‘makes it one of the most significant pieces’ in her collection.

Austin Willard, founder and CEO of Faithful Platform Fine Jewelry & Engagement Rings, believes the ring cost $1.2 million, and said ‘The low-profile setting keeps the stone from looking audacious, so it keeps the entire design grounded.’

The couple first went public with their relationship back in September 2023 when the Blank Space singer appeared at Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City alongside his mother, Donna Kelce.

Their romance has captivated the world and especially Swifties, with the Shake It Off pop star supporting Kelce’s run to two Super Bowls.

Kelce accompanied Swift around the world while she sold out the record-breaking Eras Tour.
