ADDISON, Ill. (WLS) — A suburban teenager is coming forward to say she is one of the victims of a suburban ice cream shop owner.

Steven Weisberg, a 58-year-old Buffalo Grove man, is accused of secretly filming women and girls while they were in the bathroom at Flavor Frenzy in Addison. He’s facing several charges, including child pornography.

“From my interview, he was super talkative and very nice… But quickly, things started to escalate a little bit,” alleged victim Raina Ashrafi said. “He was just creepy. We didn’t think anything of it. We didn’t think it would go anywhere past that.”

Working at the Flavor Frenzy ice cream shop in Addison was Ashrafi’s first job last summer, when she was 16 years old at the time. Her former boss is now in jail, accused of secretly recording his young employees, possibly for years, while they changed inside a bathroom.

“Every female employee was asked, at the beginning of summer, to sort of participate in a modeling campaign, is what he called it,” Ashrafi said.

The disturbing directions, allegedly from a former boss involved apparent merchandise, have Ashrafi reflecting on her time working at Flavor Frenzy, which she said was from March to September of last year.

“He would tell you to go in the bathroom and put on this shirt with this bra, this tank top with this bra, multiple times… And, then you’d come out and whatever, take a picture. And the whole process would repeat,” Ashrafi said. “We never saw the pictures. They were never posted. No customer ever bought merchandise. And so, I guess, it turns out that the goal was just to get us topless in that bathroom, because that is where the camera was.”

Weisberg was arrested last Friday after police said a recent anonymous tip led an undercover officer to discover a fake electrical outlet inside the shop’s bathroom.

Prosecutors said the wall outlet hid a small camera in one of the receptacles, positioned to capture portions of the restroom, including a urinal. Prosecutors believe Weisberg installed the camera years ago.

According to prosecutors, more than a dozen alleged videos were found on Weisberg’s phone, some including minors, showing some people undressing and naked.

“I hope he gets everything that he deserves,” Ashrafi said.

Now 18, Ashrafi prepares to begin college at the Missouri School of Journalism. She said she has some relief knowing her former boss is being held in jail ahead of his trial on child pornography and unauthorized recording charges.

“I hope knows just how much of a negative impact he’s had on everyone’s lives,” Ashrafi said.

Weisberg is due in court again next month. Police said his ice cream shop here will remain closed and that its business license was voluntarily surrendered.
