The Amelia Island Brewing Company, known for its dual establishments, The Tavern and The Alley, has announced it will be closing both locations come November 5th.
Situated in the heart of Fernandina Beach, Florida, the brewing company has been a staple on Centre Street for nearly a decade. The closure, set for November, marks the end of an era for the Amelia Island Brewing Company, which has become a beloved part of the local community since its inception in 2016.
In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, the company expressed gratitude to its patrons and staff, stating, “Amelia Island Brewing Company would like to thank our guests and team for nearly a decade of wonderful memories and shared experiences. We are proud of our charitable service in the community with our spaghetti dinners and donations to local chapters over the years, and through that have built amazing relationships.”
Originally launched as the Amelia Tavern Restaurant & Brewpub, it proudly held the title of the first fully operational craft brewery in Fernandina Beach. In 2020, the company expanded its horizons by introducing two distinct yet complementary venues: The Tavern by AIBC and The Alley by AIBC, both operating side-by-side.
In 2020, it expanded into two side-by-side operations: The Tavern by AIBC, and its sister taproom, The Alley by AIBC.
Both will close their doors on Nov. 5.
“As we close this chapter, we want to leave you with one heartfelt reminder: support the businesses you love,” wrote the AIBC team. “Follow them on social media. Leave the kind review. Tell your friends. Show up for them, even in small ways. Those acts of support mean everything to the people behind the scenes: the servers, cooks, bartenders, managers, and owners who pour their hearts into what they do.”
As operations wind down, AIBC says it will no longer serve weekend breakfast and is selling off its kegs.
A reason for the closure was not provided.
