Andy Cohen has admitted to using a weight loss drug to help achieve a trimmer physique.

The Real Housewives franchise executive, 57, made the admission on his Sirius XM Andy Cohen Live show on Tuesday.

The host said he had lost ‘a good chunk of weight’ over the summer ‘micro-dosing’ a GLP-1 medication, but did not say which.

Micro-dosing involves taking a smaller dose of a drug than the amount suggested by the manufacturer. This approach might have helped Cohen steer clear of some of the drug’s negative side effects like nausea, bloating, and diarrhea.

‘I was really unhappy with my weight,’ the entertainment personality told his listeners.

‘My doctor and I discussed this last year and recommended a GLP-1 medication several times, not only to address my feelings about my weight but also to manage plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure.’

Andy Cohen, 57, credits his slimmer, trimmer self to the use of a weight loss drug, saying he 'lost a good chunk of weight' by micro-dosing a GLP-1 medication

Andy Cohen, 57, attributes his leaner, more toned physique to a weight loss medication, stating he ‘shed a significant amount of weight’ by micro-dosing a GLP-1 drug.

Although initially reluctant to do it, Cohen said the drug was ‘actually is beneficial to a lot of elements of health and I finally said yes.’

GLP-1 medications helps manage blood sugar, reduce appetite and slow stomach emptying so the person taking it will feel fuller for a longer period of time.

For the media mogul, that helped him cut down snacking. ‘I have to say, it really helped me with cravings, which I was having a very hard time with,’ he explained.

‘I would have a drink, then there’s all these cookies. There’s craft services,’ he said of the food provided for workers on the set Watch What Happens Live. ‘It’s pasta night. It’s pizza night… my cravings for all that stuff dissipated.’

Using the medication forced him ‘to be more disciplined with my diet and with working out.’

His workout regimen included lifting ‘heavier weights’ during training sessions and watching what he put in his mouth.

‘No snacking or excess drinking. I am still drinking, but not crazy and perhaps the most importantly, I’m not snacking after the craving [I get] after I drink.’

Cohen acknowledged how lucky he was to have access to medical care and insurance covered part of the cost. Without insurance drugs such as Ozempic or Wegovy can be as much as $1,200 a month.

‘This is a revolutionary drug,’ he said. ‘I’m so happy also to have been on this journey under the care of a doctor and working with a trainer to make sure that we have done this right.’

The Bravo star said it ‘would be completely hypocritical not to share,’ his weight loss secret since he has asked others about theirs so often, ‘and then be the guy who’s suddenly lost 25 lbs. but isn’t mentioning it.’
