In an innovative collaboration, Apple and NBCUniversal are joining forces to introduce a new streaming bundle designed to offer significant savings to subscribers. The Apple TV and Peacock Bundle will be available starting October 20, merging the diverse content libraries of both platforms.
The bundle is available in two pricing tiers: $14.99 per month for Apple TV paired with Peacock Premium, or $19.99 monthly for Apple TV combined with the ad-free Peacock Premium Plus. This package presents over 30% savings when compared to subscribing to each service separately. Currently, Apple TV costs $12.99 per month, while Peacock Premium is priced at $10.99 and Peacock Premium Plus at $16.99 monthly.
This collaboration marks Apple TV’s first significant venture into bundling, as it has traditionally focused on its exclusive original programming to draw in viewers. Meanwhile, Peacock enhances the offering with NBCUniversal’s extensive array of shows, movies, and live sports. This strategic move follows a subtle rebranding effort by Apple TV, which recently simplified its name by dropping the “+” from its title.
As an added benefit, each platform will provide a curated selection of the other’s shows, allowing users to preview and explore new content before committing to a subscription.
The partnership marks the first major bundling effort for Apple TV, which has primarily relied on its premium original content to attract subscribers. Peacock brings NBCUniversal’s extensive catalog of shows, movies and live sports to the deal. It comes after a minor rebranding for Apple TV, which just dropped the “+” from the streaming service’s name.
“There is no more perfect combination of entertainment than the Apple TV and Peacock Bundle,” said Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, in a news release announcing the new bundle.
Subscribers will gain access to Apple TV originals like “Ted Lasso,” “Severance” and “Slow Horses,” alongside Peacock’s offerings such as “The Traitors,” the “Law & Order” franchise and live sports, including NBA games.
Apple One subscribers on Family and Premier plans can add Peacock Premium Plus with a 35% discount, making it the first external benefit offered through Apple’s subscription bundle service.
Both services plan to offer sampling programs, allowing current subscribers of one platform to watch up to three episodes of select shows from the other service at no additional cost, including “Stick,” “Slow Horses,” “Silo,” “The Buccaneers,” “Foundation,” “Palm Royale” and “Prehistoric Planet” from Apple TV, while Apple TV users will be able to watch up to three episodes of “Law & Order,” “Bel-Air,” “Twisted Metal,” “Love Island Games,” “Happy’s Place,” “The Hunting Party,” and “Real Housewives of Miami” from Peacock.
The bundle is available only to U.S. customers through either the Apple TV app or Peacock’s website and app. The services will remain available as standalone subscriptions for customers who prefer single-service access.
