Arnold Schwarzenegger is weighing in on his son Christopher’s body transformation.
Arnold Schwarzenegger, the famous actor known for his role in “The Terminator,” recently discussed his son Christopher’s experiences with weight issues during his childhood in an interview with The Times. Christopher, who is now 27 years old, went through a period of dealing with weight problems while growing up.
Arnold, who has four children including Christopher, expressed that he never wanted to directly address his son’s weight by telling him he was overweight. Instead, he waited for Christopher to reach a decision on his own terms.
“We just kept introducing healthy foods. We introduced him always to the gym and all of that kind of stuff,” he added about Christopher.
After some time, Christopher made the choice to become lean and healthy. Arnold admired his son’s self-discipline and self-motivation in achieving this transformation. He always believed that the motivation for change would need to come from within Christopher, and he was pleased to see his son take that step towards a healthier lifestyle.
Christopher shocked fans with his weight loss transformation when he stepped out in Los Angeles in April with his brother Patrick.
Last month, Christopher spoke about his weight loss for the first time at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit, revealing that he lost 30 pounds just from giving up bread for Lent.
“I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia,” he said of his process. “I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.”
Christopher explained that his inability to go skydiving on the trip sparked his decision to lose weight.
Furthermore, Christopher admitted that he’s “tried everything” to get skinnier since high school.
“I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he recalled. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error.”
“And even still to this day,” Christopher added, “when you’re saying, ‘oh, before and after photos’ … I don’t feel like I’m an ‘after’ yet. I don’t feel like I’m at that point.”
In addition to his four kids with Shriver, Arnold is dad to son Joseph Baena. He welcomed the 27-year-old with the family’s housekeeper, Mildred Baena, following an affair during his marriage to Shriver.
Last week, Arnold was joined by all five of his kids at the red carpet premiere for Season 2 of his Netflix comedy “Fubar” in Los Angeles.
However, Baena posed with his dad in separate photos than his half-siblings.
