An issue with overheating has prompted 37 complaints regarding specific air purifiers, including one instance where a unit caught fire. Fortunately, no injuries have been documented.
WASHINGTON — Approximately 191,390 Aroeve brand air purifiers sold in the United States are being recalled following multiple reports from customers about overheating problems, one of which involved a fire.
According to a statement released on February 9 by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, these air purifiers pose risks of overheating and ignition, which could potentially result in fire and burn hazards.
These recalled items were sold online at Amazon.com, Shopify.com, TEMU.com, and TikTok.com from September 2024 through June 2025 for between $80 and $134, according to the recall.Â
Consumers who own Aroeve air purifiers, specifically model MK04 available in black or white, are strongly advised to stop using them immediately.
In total, there have been 37 reported incidents involving overheating, with one of these cases escalating to a fire. Thankfully, no injuries have been associated with these incidents.
Customers can find their model, date code and serial number on the bottom of the air purifier. Any Aroeve brand air purifier manufactured on or before June 30, 2025 with a serial number beginning in “BN” are subject to the recall.Â
