Despite the swirling drama over “toxic” mom groups, Ashley Tisdale and Haylie Duff continue to prove that their friendship is as solid as ever. The two longtime friends were recently seen enjoying each other’s company during a family outing to an Italian restaurant in Malibu, California.

Onlookers caught a glimpse of their casual yet chic style as they left the eatery. Tisdale opted for a relaxed look with jeans, a loose jacket, and loafers, her hair neatly tied up in a bun. Meanwhile, Duff embraced a similar laid-back vibe with jeans and left her long hair flowing in soft waves.

This public appearance marks their second outing together following the buzz surrounding Tisdale’s candid essay on The Cut. In her piece, she detailed her decision to distance herself from a “toxic” mom group, a topic that quickly garnered widespread attention.

Speculation among fans ran high, with many concluding that the group Tisdale referred to might have included familiar names such as Hilary Duff, Haylie’s younger sister, along with Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor. Although the essay stirred controversy, it seems to have had little impact on Tisdale and Haylie’s enduring friendship.

Fans quickly deduced that Tisdale’s former mom group — whom she accused of “mean girl” behavior and excluding her — included Haylie’s younger sister, Hilary Duff, as well as Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor.

While Hilary has yet to comment on the drama, her husband, Matthew Koma, did hit back at Tisdale publicly via his Instagram Stories.

The music producer posted a mock cover of himself on the cover of the Cut, with a headline reading, “A mom group tell all through a father’s eyes: When You’re the Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”

Meanwhile, Haylie appears to be estranged from her sister and backed Tisdale.

The “Napoleon Dynamite” star “liked” the Cut’s Instagram post promoting Tisdale’s essay after it published on New Year’s Day.

Last week, Hilary revealed details on her estrangement from Haylie while singing her new song, “We Don’t Talk,” during her show at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

The lyrics include, “We come from the same home, the same blood.”

She also expressed wanting to “get back to how we were as kids.”

“Let’s have it out / I’ll hear you out, you’ll hear me out on the couch. … Let’s break it down / So sick of being so sad about / How we don’t talk and you won’t talk about it,” the lyrics read.

The “Lizzie McGuire” alum, 38, appears to want to reconcile with Haylie.

“Not even sure what it was about,” the lyrics continue. “If I did something different / Would you feel something different? / Would you at least let me hear you out?”
